Thank you Sandra looks likely the same family. Is there any info on the passenger lists? They married in Wales in 1866, William was born in 1867 before they left for the states. Trying to determine a year they left.

Also how old is the David in the 1870 census? Was he born in the states?

Thanks for your help.

Wonder if I should start a new thread?

If possible, I wonder could you give me family info on the father of Nettie Bell Williams b 1902 in Idaho he is David John Williams, trying to figure a dob he married Sarah Elizabeth Slater, in Utah in 1886.

I have a possible DNA match on him but cannot place him in my tree. Wonder if he is connected to this Williams branch?

I say possible as the only person in the matches tree could be him.

Thanks if you can help further

That is the correct family in their tree, but additional info in post.  David John has birthdates that are diffrent in trees connected to him. Would like to verify approx dob as cannot find him in Wales with the info they give, there are a lot of discrepancies that cannot be verified.

Don't think I will ever sort this.

I have a DNA connection to the Wardle family through my x 4 great grandfather Rees Lewis his great grandau is Sarah Elizabeth Slater who married D J Williams.

Problem I have a known DNA connection to my Rees family line. (Ellen / Ellenor Rees who married David Williams) who also connects through DNA in shared matches to the Wardle family. But is connected verified through the Rees family. ???

So was hoping there was a son of Ellen / Ellenor Williams nee Rees that would fit. ???  I have 2 lines crossing somewhere.

What a conundrum!

Thank you Sandra for your time, effort & info for both the William families, much appreciated.

Noticed on death certificate of Sarah Elizabeth Williams, her mother was Janet Edwards.
On the death cert for David Williams, his mother was Gwen Edwards.  Wonder if there is a link there ?

Cannot find a marriage within timeframe for named John Williams to Gwen / Gwenllian Edwards.  It still would not connect to the Rees line. Both families were in different areas of Wales.

Jennet/Janet Edwards was the dau of Elizabeth Lewis, dau of Rees Lewis with his first wife. My line is his 2nd wife. I have 4 DNA matches from Elizabeth's daughters.

Been scratching my head on this for a while. Appreciate any other thoughts or input.
