Title: Frederick James Rowles Could this old family photo be repaired
Post by: TROOPER ROLLO on Thursday 11 February 21 10:16 GMT (UK)
The older man sitting in the middle with a hat is Frederick James Rowles
He served in the Metropolitan Police for many years and then became a prison warder.

What is this uniform, there are some very young men on the front row. By the way interesting to see somebody photo bombing even in those days.

markw78,
A few breaches of etiquette, here. Without asking, without acknowledging - allowing others to think it is all your work - you have run my restore through an artificial colourising app. I wake to find something I worked on all day yesterday... has been defaced. (Sorry, Stuart, I 'm colourblind so rarely colour myself but the auto colourisers don't really do a very good job.)

I  agree with Peter. I have overlaid the colourised image on top of Peter's image and can provide the pds version. They are perfect matches. Note, also, that the only image on the thread that is the same dimensions as Peter's is the colourized one.

Sorry Peter,
I had not realised it was your picture that was coloured.
I will discard it.

Stuart, you took it in good faith. I'm sorry your thread was sullied. :)
