Title: ALBERT NICHOLAS HUGHES 1919
Post by: trevalyn on Thursday 11 February 21 16:41 GMT (UK)
Albert Nicholas HUGHES died on 3 Jan 1919 after war service with the Royal Army Medical Corps; he was aged 24. The family lived at New Iveagh Trust Buildings, Wood Quay, Dublin
At the 1911 Census the family consisted of his mother Ruth (widowed), ALBERT (16), sister Ruth (17),
and brothers William (19), Ernest (7) and Norman (4). His father, William, had died on 22/2/1916.
The Hughes family were Baptists.
Does anyone know where ALBERT HUGHES is buried?

hi

Albert Nicholas Hughes father William died in 1906, not 1916.  See:-

Do you know where he was buried.  I can’t make out his County of Birth in the 1901 census (Louth?) but wonder if his son was buried with him?

Regards

You are of course correct;should be 1906. My typo. William's birthplace has to be Co Louth. Albert's mother Ruth was born in England so she and William may have been married there. Albert and his siblings were all born in Dublin.

Hi,
I searched "Find A Grave" and the Ireland Cemetery site. Sorry, no results.
I know these are not complete as I have family in a southern cemetery that are not listed, but they will be as soon.
The address at the time of Alberts death was with his sister Ruth at 36 Bride Street. The nearest Cemetery to there is Mount Jerome.  (I have also looked in the County Louth List)

Thank you for all your efforts. The fact that the records are incomplete can indeed be misleading. I am currently working on another line of inquiry; if I get a result I will announce my success on this page.!
