I currently have;
Eric George Else 1911-1965
Born and died in Lincoln.
Married 1936 to Iris Mabel West
I know he was in the boar war I know he and Iris only had 1 child she disliked him so much she is buried with her parents in a different graveyard to him.
I'm hoping more expert searchers maybe able to find me more information on him so I can perhaps find a father, siblings, war records and more.
Thank you

You won't find War records as service records after 1920 are still with the MOD. The Boar war was prior to 1911 when you say he was born
Possibly illegitimate
Births Sep 1911
Else Eric G Mothers maiden surname Else
Lincoln 7a 1006

Eric & Iris appear together on the 1939 register, sorry I am not able to give details.
He was baptised at St Swithin, Lincoln 1st November 1911 born 18 August 1911 - Mother Annie Else
Address St Swithin Refuge, Free School Lane
Administration to his estate when he died was granted to his widow.

Ah thank you that helps a little It's so easy to get confused with family recalling the truth and the actual truth, I know one of the Else relatives was in the Boar war because Iris told me herself, as to the origins of the family she said they were given the "Key to the city" I have yet to figure out what this means.

Thank's Trish it was that link that helped me to fill my tree back to Mary Else born abt 1790. Once we could find that link it was another forum that had a full account of the fact it was EG Else that witnessed his 'step-father's' death that nugget was enough to fill in the broken link and it's amazing to see the fact that My grandad kept saying he used to go to mrs salmons home - he had no idea that she was a step family!
Amazing what these things can uncover.

You may have seen these but there are some trees on Ancestry but have different families for Annie
One gives her parents as Joseph Else and Eliza Williams, born in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, in 1884.
Annie Evelyn Else, born 10 Mar 1884 and baptised on 27 Apr 1884 in Edwinstowe.

Everyone has skeletons in their closet. Thats what make family history interesting ;D

Bapt matches 1939 register dob.
Gosh David I have been looking for ages to find her in 1911 with no luck!
-
That's what I've got down that she was Nottinghamshire. And that we have a William Williams coming into the mix. The professions all add up too.
-
The only war record that I can find is for Joe (Joseph) Else, Annie's brother. He married Mary Ellen Mills, a widow nee Shield, on 18th October 1919 in Attercliffe, Yorkshire.
