Title: Best places to look for an individual in London, 1960 - 1962 ??
Post by: Gavin_J123 on Thursday 18 February 21 00:10 GMT (UK)
Trying to track down an individual who I have zero information on other than he lived in London between the years 1960 - 1962. The information I do have however is of the lady he would have been living with at the time, and the location in which is daughter was born in 1961 (he isnt on the birth cert, hence why i dont even have a name).

My initial thoughts were look up the lady in public records then find the names of any men living at the same address. Unfortunately census isnt an option so where are the next best places to look? electrol roll perhaps? where can I find a means of searching those? do they even include address on there or is it just names?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Gavin,

Ancestry have Electoral Registers for London. I don't know how comprehensive the collection is.

I used a recent free access weekend to follow a lot of my family from the early 1920s up to about 1963. They were in Woolwich, Eltham and Lewisham. Names and addresses are shown but of course only those eligible to vote are shown, unlike a census which details everyone in a household.

Best regards, Tony.

You have to serach by name, but the transcriptions are horrendous,so make sure you are thorough.
I hope the name is not too common  ;D
