Morning everyone. I am looking for a connection between a John spankhurst( indexed spelling mistake ) who was born 1752 ,leigh in Kent, and Francis James penkhurst( another indexed mistake) born 1785-6 Canterbury.
I was given a family tree of my pankhursts years ago but with a piece missing.
The gentleman who kindly gave me the tree said he knows there is a connection between the two and there were some possibilities but nothing he could absolutely confirm so didnt put anything in.
John spankhurst was married to winny aylerd ,born 1750. They married 27 Jan 1771 leigh parish church Kent.
Winny died 1835 22nd July 1835 aged 85 CINDER HILL which is near leigh Kent.
Now ,Francis James penkhurst was born 1785-6 in Canterbury ,died 27 april1857 aged 71. His family came from leigh in Kent. He ended up in Cheshire and his line goes to Richard Marsden pankhurst ect.
Francis married Mary bowering?
His parents were Thomas pankhurst and Sarah Smith m 25th may 1780 Canterbury .
Grandparents were Thomas pankhurst who married Mary dibley 11th may 1743 hawkhurst.
We know there is a connection between these two families but its finding it.
In her book christabel pankhurst mentions that when taken Ill she stayed with a relative in CINDER HILL. Which Is where winny pankhurst (aylerd)was living previously when she died in 1835...obviously it wasn't her she stayed with but a relative of both maybe. What has been found, not be me, that the pankhursts in that area were all related in some way or another. There were loads of them :-[
I really hope this all makes sense and any help connecting the two families would be gratefully appreciated. I dont need to come forward as such,just the connection. I've been looking at this for years and my eldest son is also on the case but we really do need some help. Thank you xx

Don't know if this will help at all but Aylerd looks like being a variation of Aylward/ Allard, which occurs in Heaver which is not far from Leigh.
