Title: Hannah Hardy
Post by: 0191alex11 on Thursday 25 February 21 12:29 GMT (UK)
Hi! Can anyone help with any of the following please?
I have a Hannah Hardy marrying a Joseph Brown on 27th August 1786 at Chester Le Street? They had the following issue all baptised at Chester Le Street, living at Pelton:

Jane 1787, Elizabeth 1789, Hannah 1794, Ann 1796, Mary 1801 and Joseph 1803.

I believe Joseph Brown to be the one baptised on 29 Dec 1765 at Chester Le Street, buried 1823 at Pelton, son of a Francis Brown and Elizabeth Fowler?

There is also a burial for Hannah Brown (nee Hardy) for 1833 at Pelton, born circa 1761?

I cannot find any baptism for Hannah Hardy so any help with her parentage much appreciated!

Many thanks to all - keep safe! :)

You may have to go through the Bapts on FreeREG for Joseph/Hannah at Chester le Street.

I have just had a quick look and looks like she may be named as Hannah/Johana.

Bapt 21 Oct 1798 (birth 22 Sep 1798)
JAS Brown, 1st Son of JOSEPH/JOHANA Brown (nee Hardy)
Abode Urpeth
Father Native of this Parish by his wife Native of this Parish

JOSEPH Bapt 18 Dec 1803;
2nd son. Father Native of Pelton by his wife Native of Eskham****
Mother Hannah Handy)*

Quick look we have;
Jane 1787
Ann 1792 (mother as Johanna)
Hannah 1794
Ann 1796
Mary 1801 (Daug 6)

So missing 1 Daug.

Found Elizabeth now 25 Dec 1789 so missing Daug.

So maybe look under Hardy or Handy

Good luck :)

As they name children James/Jane possible on F/S for a Hannah 19 Jun 1763 Auckland St Andrew
to James/Jane Hardy.
Needs more research though.

Back to Chester le Street;
Burials;
Brown
28 Mar 1806, JOSEPH, son of Joseph, age 2,  Smallpox; father a Pitman, abode Pelton
Possibles for Parents;
23 Feb 1823 JOSEPH age 59 abode Pelton (1764)
3 Dec 1826 HANNAH age 69 abode Lambton (1757) (wouldnt match bapt above though)
