Hi,
We have been tracing our Scarrott ancestors and have now traced these back to William Scarrott/ Margaret Whitehouse from Cheslyn Hay, Staffordshire.
We are trying to source anything we put in the Family Tree but are struggling on a few children of William and Margaret.
We have:
William Scarrott b: 1794 Cannock, Staffs
John Scarrott b: 1796 Ramsden, Oxon
Thomas Scarrott b: 1798 Cannock, Staffs
James Scarrott b: 1800 Cheveley, Berkshire
Pricilla Scarrott b: 1804 Witney, Oxfordshire
Eliza Scarrott b: 1815 Finstock, Oxfordshire
Charles Scarrott b: 1816 Finstock, Oxfordshire
Rebecca Scarrott b: 1817Finstock, Oxfordshire
I also have a William Scarrott/ Fanny Bosley with 3 children
Eleanor Scarrott b: 1785 Charlbury, Oxon
Esau Scarrott b: 1783
Sophia Scarrott b: 1781 Finstock, Oxon
Is this the same William?
A lot of on-line trees also have
Mary Ann b: 1807 but I cannot find any indication of this so to confirm.
Regards
David

Colin,
The baptism of William fits and also of Margaret Whitehouse so I will add this to my family tree.
This Scarrott tree is rather large, Scarrotts marrying Scarrots and it gets very complicated to trace everyone.

Thanks for your reply David. I note that William died 1855 Bampton, which is in the registration district of Witney. However the GRO record below states age 90?
SCARROTT, WILLIAM 90
GRO Reference: 1855 M Quarter in WITNEY Volume 03A Page 476

Colin,
William was 81 in the 1851 Census @ Burford, Oxon, ( Witney District )down as Searcott on Ancestry.
William Searcott Age81
James Searcott Age50
Hannah Searcott Age49
Father of James so I would presume that this is the same William b; 1765

The baptism I posted earlier was 1771, which may be correct but the place of birth in 1851 is Chester, Staffordshire, which may have been transcribed incorrectly I have not seen original, however it may be worth looking at the baptism below?
