Title: Is anyone able to take some photos of a grave at St Pancras Cemetery, please
Post by: KathrynBryant1 on Friday 26 February 21 13:28 GMT (UK)
Good afternoon.  I am undertaking some research for a friend.  They have a relative buried at St Pancras Cemetery Camden that comes under Islington & St Pancras Cemetery.  We live a long way from the Cemetery and are wondering if there is a kind soul that lives nearby to the Cemetery that would be willing to take a photo or two of the Grave, not sure if there is a Headstone.  I obviously have the name of the deceased and the Grave number.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Kathryn

Go to findagrave, upload the grave details,  and then "request a photo" on there.

That will get you the best audience for the request.

Thank you Pauline.  Do you happen to know what the website address is and also is it free?

Kindest,

Kathryn

I can't get there under present travel restrictions, but if you provide the details, including plot number, here or by PM, I just might have a photo or at least be able to assess the likelihood of finding the grave. Much of the cemetery is hopelessly overgrown, and some has been cleared for reuse for new burials or ashes.

Thank you all again.  I did send an email but haven't received a response.  I appreciate though that we are in difficult times.

The grave number is RC27 on St Patricks Avenue within the grounds.  I'm not sure if there's a Headstone.  Am I allowed to post the person's name and burial details on here?  There is one Grave with two members of the same family buried within.

Regards,

Kathryn

RC27 is the section number, not the plot number. There are dozens of graves in that section.

You can post the name and burial details here. But it’s not worth anyone going unless it can be confirmed that there is a headstone. Best recourse is to phone the cemetery office, rather than emailing them. They are usually very helpful there.

Hiya.  Have just checked the Parish Record and above the RC27 it has the number 304 so would this be the Plot number?

Kathryn

Hard to say out of context.

Have you looked at the grave details for the cemetery at DeceasedOnline? You will need to purchase a few credits to access the image. That should give you the plot number, but it won't necessarily tell you whether there is a headstone. So you will probably need to contact the cemetery in any case.

Hiya.  It was from there that I got a copy of the Parish Record of Burials from.  At the time I only noticed RC27.  Upon returning to the document and following on from your input I found the number 304.  I'll ring the Cemetery on Monday but if you are able to assist in any way shape or form please do so.

Kindest,

Kathryn

If the cemetery confirms there is a headstone, I will go when lockdown permits. You can PM me the details.

Thank you so much.  I'll leave posting on this thread now until I've spoken to the Cemetery following which I'll post an update.

Thanks again one and all for your assistance.

Keep safe and stay well.

Kathryn

Section RC27 was well kept when I was looking for someone else back in 2015. Unfortunately, I didn't come across the name Kathryn is asking for. I'll leave it to BookBox, who's probably close than I am, on the opposite side of London.

BTW, it's OK to give names here, except for living people.

Thank you Chris.  Your assistance has been much appreciated.  I'll have to make sure that I state the other number found above RC27 OF 304 as this is possibly the Grave number.

Take care and keep safe.

Kathryn

Morning all.  I have just rung the Cemetery following my email to them.  I was informed that the lady who deals with the emails has been off but is back today.  I was further informed that if I don't have a response by tomorrow then I should call back.  As before, I will update once I have any news.

Kind regards,

Kathryn
