There's a Leonard Batt age 1 in 1901 father George mother Elizabeth - is that him?

Not sure of the dates in your post - was the marriage 1918?  What is the 1896 date?

Birth Leonard Batt Jun 1899 Northampton

There's nothing to stop you using the free search on the 1939 register.
You know very well that we can't provide them anyway.

You were also looking for Daisy - I am assuming Sherwood - born 1891. :-\  The registration for Daisy Sherwood in 1891 shows mother's maiden name of Farnell.

ADDED:  Or should I have been looking for Daisy Hynard  :-\

He married Daisy Hynard 1926 in Colchester Essex. (parents)?

Is this the Daisy you are asking about?  If so her marriage certificate should list her father to get you started.

How do you know she was born in 1891?

There is a Daisy Hynard born in Dec 1905 Cosford - is that the one you want?

You can look up her birth on the GRO index to find mothers maiden name and then find a marriage for her parents.

I am also looking for information on Leonard Batte and Sarah Sherwood. Leonard and Sarah had (I believe 5) children, of which William Francis Batte was one (born 1921 and died around 1974 or 1975 and Ernest Gordon Batte (b 1939 and died 1998) was another - if this is the same family. Any information would be greatly appreciated - I am researching from outside of UK - thank you.
