Checking with GENUKI

Herefordshire

A topgraphical Directory of England 1831

It states, that Richard's Castle, a parish in the hundred of WOLPHY, County of HEREFORD, and partly in the hundred of MUNSLOW, county of SALOP, 4 miles (S.S.W) from Ludlow, containing, with the townships of Moor with Batchcott, Overton and Woolfreton, 490 inhabitants. etc.

Thanks cape town, I cannot find a Richards castle in Hertfordshire but I know the one part in Herefordshire part in Shropshire very well :) :)

Hereford archives have the bishops transcripts but no parish registers, Shropshire archives don’t seem to have any parish registers.

Genuki:  Herefordshire, says the Church is All Saints, Richards Castle, Church of England

If I Google this church up comes the photo of All Saints Church, Richards Castle - and written underneath states:

The 'new' church, is actually in Batchott, Shropshire.  Architect: Richard Norman Shaw.

....

There is a Niece on one census - Ann C SIMMONS, aged 10 - scholar, born Gloucester, Charlton Ridge - not sure whether she's William or Elizabeth's.

Will have another look.

On Ancestry

England & Wales, Christening Index - 1530-1980

Quite a number of  PIERCE/PEERCE  baptisms are coming up at Richards Castle, Shropshire, England

including

William PIERCE - baptisms, 23 October 1774 Richards Castle, Shropshire, England (may be his Dad).   Will have a good look.
