Any suggestions please when the head gear was worn? Thank you.
-
It looks like early/mid 1890s...it's a good idea to show a scan of the back if you have it.

Thank you so much Carol for your reply. I attach the reverse however no clues there. I was hoping it was early 1870's as Eliza died in 1879. Back to the drawing board....

I had hoped it was their mother.

Her hairstyle looks very old fashioned for 1890s as looks like something from 1840s. Age wise maybe 60s or 70s so maybe someone born around 1820ish.

I know what you mean, but the shoulders of the dress are more 1890s, I know older people didn't keep up with fashion but her hairstyle is very much earlier more like 1850s and the hat and bodice of the dress are more like 1870s :-\

Problem adding the other photo, sorry. Eliza was 50 when died, so it is just possible it is a photo of her. Do you see a similarity of the eyes on the 3 photos, please?
-
Could it maybe be their grandmother. What age were the children in the photos born.
-
Agree with Carol, mid-late 1890's.
The head gear is a day cap & favoured by older women over a long period.
She looks around 65-70 to me so someone born around 1825-35.
