Hi,I have found a distant cousin in America, the first name in her tree said slave man Seldon, just wondering how you can find out which families went to America from England. Does anyone know any good web pages? Thanks.

Familysearch has lots of free records.
Researchers on here need names, birth dates, what information you already have and what you are searching for ?

There were several hundred thousand immigrants to the American colonies before the Revolutionary War, including some 400,000 from Britain, more than 300,000 involuntary immigrants from Africa and tens of thousands from other European countries, so a list of names of the early colonists isn't really feasible.

What relevance does the year 1726 have?
Is it the birth year of Marguerite & year of death of Seldon?
Whose daughter is Lydia?
If she was born in 1786 there's a 60 year gap so neither of the above.

Not sure, its what I have read on my distant cousins page.

Thanks everyone, so sure I need to go back further, I know slaves were often given their owners name, didn't think I would find this in my family history, so more investigating for me to do.
