I am looking for some information concerning the family of John Cranston, b 5 Dec 1858 in Hawick. the illegitimate son of Margaret Cranston (1839- ?).
I have John on the 1861, 1871 & 1881 census in Hawick, until he gets married in Welshpool, he was a Tweed Finisher in the woollen industry, in Montgomeryshire on 11 Dec 1886, to Isabella Parry, the daughter of Pryce Parry, born 23 Jun 1861.
They had 4 children, sadly the first died soon after birth but two daughters, Alice Eva, b c1890 in Welshpool, Walter Pryce born 11 Aug 1891 and died in Huddersfield in May 1954, and Rose Ethel born 30 Aug 1893 in Welshpool and again dies in Huddersfield on 3 March 1967.
I have them in all the censuses 1891 to 1911, in Montgomeryshire.
Did John Cranston and Isabella Cranston, nee Parry, move, also to Huddersfield, another woollen town, and died in Huddersfield?
John Cranston is son of Margaret, who subsequently married a William Leithead, and one of their sons, William Walter Leithead married my Great Aunt.
Where did they disappear to?

marriage for Walter P Cranston registered sept qtr 1919 Newtown to Mabel Irene Dyke. The banns from Llanllwchaearn show that he was of parish of Holy Trinity Huddersfield.

There's a John Cranston death in Jun 1919 Huddersfield age 55.
And one for Isabella Cranston Mar 1949 Huddersfield age 85.
Rose Ethel is with her mother after John dies.

Have you tried the 1939 register? We can only check the free index for you. Possible entry in Huddersfield for Isabella giving dob of 23 June 1861.

I have the 1939 Register and Isabella with Rose Ethel at 4 Eldon Road
will check the marriage in 1914 of Alice Eva Cranston.
