Once again Rosie99 you have  partially done it ....your brilliant  Thank you.

James Rigg burial will be Ann's  Brother.  Not sure who the Sarah Ann is died 2001 unless it was James (known as Jim) wife !!!.
I just dont understand why absolutely nothing came up on ancestry Jim was too late for  1911 census but thought it would have picked up mother/father I'm a bit baffled.
Would still love to find the others but thank you for your help😄

Rosie 99  and Heywood  I refer to my posts March 18 +

I think I must have been on another planet as I have just re-read both your replies dont ask me where I went wrong ...I dont know myself but I was putting in James Rigg (  mmn Gavin ) b 1915 and I was going off this person for the husband of Annis rather than her Son  :P please accept my appologies.
I'm now back to the drawing board (as I just put it in a draw and gave up) but as I said it suddenly hit me hes a "son not Husband.
So Im Looking for the birth of James Rigg father of James Rigg husband of Annie
Please can you help !!!!!
Heywood you gave me there Marriage date and I've looked on ancestry but I cant seem to find it.   I'm trying to do the Rigg tree
Thank you so much I do appreciate your help.

Free BMD has the 1913 index of marriage of James and Annie.

http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/
Shows the marriage took place in a Registry Office or a Registrar attended. They possibly married in a Catholic Church.

The marriage certificate would give you James’ father’s name.

There is a death in Bury in 1937 for a 55yr old James Rigg, could that be him?

Or, are the family in Bacup as your title?

The death is a strong possibility,  sadly my friend is a pensioner and cannot afford to send for certificates which as you say would give fathers name, but thanks anyway.

If that is a possibility then you have an approximate year of birth about 1882. You can then search censuses.

If that is your family

1901 3853/ 102/12

Annie Gavin, 10 yrs b Bacup is a niece  to John and Judy McQuinn in Bacup.

Was she Annie Gavan baptised 19th April 1891 at St. Mary, Bacup? Birthdate in baptism register 24th March 1891. Parents Daniel & Joanna (Jane or Joan?) formerly Geraghty.

Judy McQuinn's maiden surname was Geraghty.
Baptism of John & Judy's son, Miles at St. Mary, Bacup, November 1892. Mother formerly Geraghty.
www.lan-opc.org.uk/Rossendale/Bacup/stmary/index.html

If you look on 1939 Register for Ann or Annie Rigg born March 1891 you'll find her. If you search for surname Rigg in Rawtenstall Borough on 1939 Register, you'll find one of her sons at the same address. I looked for his birth registration and his mother's maiden surname was Gavin.  Searches for Annie Rigg born 1891 with a James in the household and for James Rigg with Ann/Annie didn't show that address. I was hoping to find James and Annie together on 1939 Register to get James' birthdate, but no luck.

Hi yes I think all that you have offered is possibly correct . She married James Rigg and they had James Rigg, Ann Rigg and Robert (Bobby) Rigg.
But for the life of me i can not find James Rigg  snr.
And the only time I've seen Annie is as you say  niece  and the 1939 if I remember rightly  the dob didn't match I think they were 1906/1909 which  shows Ann and James but these could be Annie's children. !!!  I need to print them off only just saw them then my battery went.
But thank you for info.
Would just like kick start to James Rigg snr but sadly my friend has no info on him.

1939 Register. I found her by searching for Annie Rigg born March 1891 in England. I left out exact day. (My mother's d.o.b. in her baptism entry is wrong or incorrectly transcribed.) Her son can be found through his first forename and surname, year of birth and England. His middle initial is on 1939 Register and matched birth registration with mother's surname Gavin.
James, Annie's husband might have been away or dead.
