Alexander Pilley was on the 1861 census of Leith with his wife and young family. He is NOT recorded in 1871. His occupation of seaman, and the fact his wife remarried in 1871, led me to presume that perhaps he died at sea. Any advice on where I can find such a record would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Christine and Rosie
I must admit to not seeing that entry, I've added it to my list of certificates to download.
Thank you both, very much appreciated
