Post by: coraltrout on Wednesday 31 March 21 06:03 BST (UK)
This photo was given to my father in Glen Innes by his brother in Bingara NSW both deceased.
I am looking for help to know anyone in the photo.

There is no Photographers mark or writing on the back.

Gorgeous photo.

I wonder if the Bingara History Group might be interested in having a look.

Or perhaps the local paper would like to feature it?

Hi, a great photo that obviously meant something special to you uncle.

Have you checked the NSW marriage index for marriages on both sides of the family that might be connected, even back to your grandparents era?

If it's any help, it looks 1920s vintage or possibly early 30s.

Lovely photo.

It would be some effort, but you could try looking on trove for a similar photo.
https://trove.nla.gov.au
Often wedding photos, though usually just the bride were printed in newspapers (my grandmother had her photo published as a bride). You could try limiting to - bingara wedding - or something similar, and limit the time - looks like 1920s/1930s to me though I'm no expert, and limit to photo. Start with limiting to family names that you know as well.

If your uncle gave it to your father without saying who was in it could it have been linked to an unknown birth relative ..maybe not even in Australia

Worth posting on the photo forum for more precise dating or with help finding similar photos from facial recognition

Good luck with your search

Hello
Yes I have searched and searched trove and other web sites
I have also asked members of the family much older than me but no one can tell me who they are
my father was one of eight sons born in the 30's and my great grand father married 3 times
I do know it is not my grandparents but it could be their parents or parents I have even tried the photo association on Family search.
Thank you also for your help and ideas

Local newspapers gave very good descriptions of weddings with the dress described in detail and the attendants named as well. I would cross check all family weddings from 1920s and early 1930s with the newspaper descriptions. It is unusual to have one male and two female attendants, so that is one clue.
