Grateful if some kind person could do a lookup at Archives, Wellington for a 1921 Will/Probate Record for Hannah Maria RAWSTRON who died on 1 August 1921 in Palmerston North.
Her husband was Ernest Rawstron who died in 1893 in Burnley, Lancashire, England. Occupation Inspector of Police.
I have checked Archway and FamilySearch but have been unable to find an online record.
Many thanks

Hi TPB,
Do you have information that there was in fact a Will or that her estate went to probate?
As far as I'm aware all probates should appear on Archway.
Since I can't see that name on Archway, which suggests that her estate was under the value set to require probate.

Hi Spades,
In answer to your question - I don't know!

I have rechecked the Funeral Instructions from the Funeral Directors in Palmerston North for Hannah Rawstron.
There is nothing stated on their record asking about a Will.

It probably wasn’t part of a funeral directors role in any case.
I would suggest searching Archway again using different variations of RAWSTRON.
Otherwise I suspect that there wasn’t a will or that her estate went to probate.
If you find a file I’m more than happy to get it for you. :)

Thanks for the offer Spades.
I feel as though I am missing something here but not sure what?
Will keep searching and trying variations on the surname.

Hi TPB,
I have searched through Archives under 'Hannah Maria' [4 pages] and not found her. It would appear, as Spades has suggested, that there were insufficient assets to necessitate applying for probate.

Hi TPB,
Perhaps this problem could be solved by coming at it from another family angle?
Annie, daughter of Hannah Maria left a probated will:
https://www.archway.archives.govt.nz/ViewFullItem.do?code=22984463&digital=yes
Of those named, I have found a death notice for Richard Ewart Rawstron who died on 2.11.2014.
Now sending his death notice by PM......

Thanks Minniehaha for your postings and PM.
Richard Ewart Rawstron, MD is the son of the OTHER Albert James Rawstron.
I had been looking at Annie Rawstron's Will/Probate Record and noted that she left a bequest of pounds 500 to the All Saints Childrens Home, Palmerston North - so I wonder if there is some connection?
As an aside I found that Elizabeth Ward in 2015 wrote a thesis (Massey University) which was a case study on All Saints Childrens Home, Palmerston North so will check it out and the references. This may provide some leads?
Will ponder where to look next over the weekend!

"Richard Ewart Rawstron, MD is the son of the OTHER Albert James Rawstron."
As he features in Annie's will, a family connection or just a coincidence??
Minniehaha.

Hi Minniehaha,
The OTHER Albert James Rawstron (1860-1944) is an Uncle to the Albert James Rawstron (1881-?) that I am looking for.
So a family connection to Richard. There must have been alot of contact for Richard to feature in Annie's Will?
I have sent an email to a grandson of A J Rawstron (1860-1944) to see if they can provide any information, but so far no response.

Thanks for the postings.
I will close this request off, however if I become aware that there was a Will/Probate record I will repost.
