I am currently researching my dad's birth mother, Patricia Denise Davenport and am interested in finding out the occupancy of 2 addresses that she was known to be at in WW2

9 North Street, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

This is a grade II listed building circa late 18th early 19th century dwelling currently being used as a convenience store, but on 6th November 1940 it was the registered address for Patricia, when she was notified of the death of her husband Harry.
Was she just living with family or was she a domestic, as other records I have for her suggest that she had been in service.

4 Nene View, Wellingborough

This is a mid Terrace house which looks to be 1920's , and this is the address that Patricia put on my dad's birth certificate as her residence on 26th August 1941
Again was she staying with family, or was she just lodging ??
The one thing I do know about her at this time was that she had been widowed in 1940 and was about to become an unmarried mother.

There were no electoral registers at this time so the 1939 register would be the only place for you to look.

4 Nene View, Irthlingborough, Northants (Wellingborough would have been part of the postal address)

Terrace built 189_ , probably 3. It's on the wall beneath the eaves (Google maps streetview)

My hubby was a delivery driver and knew that address when I mentioned it to him.
We only live 10 mins away so could easily pop over there now we're allowed out of the house.

The lady is Eliza J (nee Moyes) although the marriage index has her as MAYES.
Her son Victor's mmn is Moyes and she was indeed born Eliza Jane Moyes.

There are quite a few other people living at the same address,maybe they were happy to take in people who wished to evacuate from larger cities.
