I wonder if there are newspaper reports for this death?
Was this an intended or unintended tragedy?

His will is detailed in Staffordshire Advertiser 12 October 1935, says he 'was found in the River Thames on 5 Aug'. Will search further.

ADDED: No can't find any other reference yet. He was the father of Vera Brittain author of "Testament of Youth"; she was the mother of Shirley Williams who died today.

I can't readily find the reference in the book, but it was suicide. He was unable to come to terms with the death of his son Edward in 1918.

You can find some references if you consult 'google'

If you haven't read 'Testament of Youth' please do so as soon as you can.
