I have searched FindMyPast, Anc & FreeCEN for the DOWNER family in 1841 but without success.
Joseph DOWNER m Lucy MARSH in Downton on 10 May 1818, and they went on to have at least 8 children.
The family is recorded in the '51, '61, '71 and '81. Can anyone help me to find them in '41 please?

Provide the census that you DO have in full.
LIST their kids in birth order and with birth/baptism location and date.

They may have been in one of the "missing pieces" in 1841:

How is that done?

Maureen
Forgive my ignorance. I am not aware of there being 'missing pieces'. Certainly, that would explain my failure to find the family

Just been looking through the Marriages at Downton around 1841 - and
at the marriage of John WORT? aged 27 Bachelor, Labourer residence: Charlton - father deceased
to Mary PEARCEY - father: Philip PEARCEY - labourer
Witnesses:
Mark DOWNER (he signes his name) - baptism in 1819 (parents: Joseph & Lucy)
and Elizabeth HENDERSON.
Which shows Mark DOWNER was around the area in 1841.
Date of Marriage 23 September 1841.

Thank you. Mark was the eldest child, and was named after his paternal grandfather.
Charles (b 1837) is my real interest but, because of problems tracing his mother, Lucy (nee MARSH), I'm gathering as much info on all family members as I can in the hope that something will enable me to focus on Lucy.
