I have a death certificate saying an inquest was held on 21st October 1876 in England. Is there any way I could see this at all? Also, what information would it give?
Thanks

The archives local to where the Inquest was held is the best place to contact to check it holds the Coroner's records, not all survive.
I have one (1902) from the London Metropolitan Archives; numerous pages showing the doctor's report, handwritten statement from the sister of the deceased, list of those called to act as the jury, notes from those unable to attend. Fascinating to read, the Inquest was held in a local pub!

If the cause of death would have been of public interest, try the newspapers, they can be very informative.
