I recently had to update my computer to a windows10 from a windows Vista. On the old machine I had a free photo editing software programme, BUT (mental blank time) I cannot remember what it was. It was not Gimp, but it was one recommended by Rootschatters.
If any one can come up with what one it was, I would be very grateful. I have tried out the editing system implicit in Windows 10, but do not find it at all simple, nor what I am looking for.
Yours in hope

Ian Nelson, who hasn’t been on the photo board for about a month, but is still on other boards, used to recommend paint.net which has been around for a long time. He talks about some free programs here: https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=844266.0

And on this link is a reviewer of 17 currently available free ones: https://www.gihosoft.com/hot-topics/best-free-photo-editing-software-pc.html (https://www.gihosoft.com/hot-topics/best-free-photo-editing-software-pc.html)

Among free programs I mostly prefer FastStone Image Viewer (an editor in spite of its name) to IrfanView, though there are one or two areas where IrfanView seems better.

Thank you all for your help.
I THINK that I was using Irfanview, so will download it and see if it looks like the one I was using before.
As I said, complete mental blank as to which I was using :'( :'(
I will let you all know later when I have downloaded it and tried it out.
Many thanks.

Thank you all. I have just downloaded Irfanview, and it certainly looks like what I had on the old PC.
I have just had a look at it, and printed out one photo. I will have to do some more trials (playing around), but it certainly looks good.
Again many thanks for your help.
