Thanks

-
That has helped a little but Harry T Denning is still a mystery
-
Why - What extra information ? There is no record of a marriage. Basic enlistment given for military info earlier. No military mentions in newspapers.
Sandra
-
Did I miss the basic enlistment sorry

Harry T Denning is still a mystery
It appears he had some issues with the law and other problems in the mid 50s. Here are a couple news clippings about those issues.

Oh wow wonder what made him turn to drink
-
Social Security No. is 718-01-0217
Place of Issue: Railroad Retirement (That's what it says)
Here is a bit on the Railroad Retirement Board:
Railroad Retirement is a program similar to, but legislatively and administratively separate from, the Social Security system. The two systems (Social Security and Railroad Retirement) are closely coordinated with regard to earnings credits, benefit payments and taxes.
https://www.up.com/employee/retirees/benefits/rrb_benefits/index.htm
and from stevemorse.org
his benefits number starts with 718-01 which means it was issued by the Railroad Retirement Board between 1936 and 1950
So maybe when he got out of the service and before 1950, he worked for the railroad for a while. I looked for Wakefield City Directories at ancestry.com to see if I could find him with an occupation but the Wakefield directories only went up to 1938.
-
Oh wow wonder what made him turn to drink
From one point of view, nothing.
From another point of view, maybe his mother dying when he was 14.
Then again he might not have 'turned to drink.' Lots of people drive drunk.
-
Either way he was family. Will track down his nephew
