Hi,
I'm going over a medical record and I've found this entry. I'm wondering it it's typhoid or something like that as the first few letters look like typh to me. I can't make head nor tail of the next bit. It must have been something contagious as it's described as a contagion later on in the document.
Thank you

I thought the first letter was an S.
Give the URL if its an online document

Can you post a bigger snip for letter comparison & give info. from the cert/record. to help the experts here help you?

Syph Prim? Primary syphilis?
-
Thanks so much everyone. It could be Syph for syphilis I suppose.
It's a document on Ancestry so I can't give a URL. It's a military record for Ralph Harwood in the UK, British Army World War 1 Service Records, 1914-1920. (Although he actually died in 1900, so I'm not really sure why it's included there).
I attach another clip. Unfortunately it's a medical record and this line is the only one signed by the particular individual who wrote this information, so there isn't much to go on. The rest of the page has been filled out by other people. So this is all the example there is.
