Hello,
I am led to believe that the above:
(a): Married Annie CHAPMAN in Sydney in 1884: and
(b): Died in Bentleigh, Victoria, in 1924 (Notice in TROVE).
Sadly that is the extent of my knowledge of him "down under" and would be grateful if anyone can expand on (a) and (b) and, important, confirm when and where he arrived in Australia.
His parents were Nicholas and Eliza BASS (nee Simpson).
For the moment and thank you,
BAC3

'A Lost Child
Mrs Annie Bass, wife of Andrew Bass, a pile-driver, at present lying dangerously ill in the Alfred Hospital, has reported to the police that on the 9th inst. a girl named "Tottie" Mitchell, 18 years of age. whom she had previously known as a domestic servant employed by a friend, induced her to permit her little girl, Clara, who is three years of age, to go with her for a while to 36 or 46 Madeline-street, Carlton. The girl and the child have both disappeared, and the mother is anxious to obtain tidings of her child, and would be grateful to anyone who would give the police any information likely to assist them in their search for her.'

Victoria BDM has death records for 4 children to Annie nee Chapman and Andrew Bass 1892-1900 and all died under the age of 1 year. Unable to find a death record for Annie Bass at this stage.
Andrew Dominick Bass enlisted 1915 ( National Archives) but was struck off shortly after and sought by Victoria Police as a deserter. NOK was A Bass address Brighton.
If you purchase the death certificate for Andrew Bass it should state how long he had lived in the colony which would narrow down his arrival date.

In 1915 Mr Andrew BASS, aged 71, wrote to the barracks at Seymour asking for the discharge of his younger son William Andrew Bass. He was underage and needed at home to attend his sick mother.
He had enlisted as a cook. Mention is made of the eldest son also enlisted and also a cook.( as mentioned by Shume above)
This is part of the digitized file for the 18 year old enlistee. He was duly discharged underage .

Good Afternoon,
Thank you to everyone for their inputs..........I am extremely grateful, especially for the "leads" to investigate.
Sadly, his arrival in Australia, when and where, still remains a mystery. Possibly the answer lies in the position of his christian names, Dominick Andrew or Andrew Dominick, although subsequent research has not proved successful. Indication of probable dates would be between 1865 and 1884.
For the moment,
