That child is possibly still alive so you should remove their names from your post

There is a probable marriage for the mother in 1945 (Surrey)   Also a possible marriage for the daughter under her stepfathers surname

Ok will remove the surname.
Notice someone has beaten me to it.
Probably now is the time to finish on this site any way.
I am too old now to find out my own correct origins, will instruct a researcher in due course.
My early overseas memories are still with me.Thanks Rootschatters for all the wonderful help you have given over the years. Janet MacPherson. alias Brionne.

Don't go! You are never too old, and there is always plenty of help on Rootschat.

Re Margaret Wilhemina, she may have put an ad in the Surrey Advertiser, 4 Dec 1943.
Young Swiss woman, seeking situation as a cook. Mentions having a daughter of a likely sort of age.
Under the spelling of the name that Rosie found a couple of years later.
John

I have given you the details as to where you can find her using freebmd.  If you would like the electoral register details then PM me.

Her mother died in 1968 age 53, you can see that registration on freebmd in the same area she married, I will leave it to you to look up.

I would agree with that -stet - the new surname crossed out in error.  Amendment ties in with marriage I located

Comes up a lot in crosswords! They come in useful sometimes.
"Let it stand" = Stet!
Well done for finding the marriage, Rosie.
