Title: What is the Groom's surname please?
Post by: mckha489 on Saturday 05 June 21 10:13 BST (UK)
Both Ancestry & FindMyPast have transcribed this as HASSAWGH  which doesn't seem right, but I am not doing any better

The history of commoners of GB and Ireland has it as HASSEL. but it is clearly more than that.

Assuming the second and fifth letters are a, then Hassawgh is correct.

There seems to be a name "Hassang", so perhaps that's a possibility.

Also Hassach.

I am thinking it must be Hass with quite a gutteral  sound at the end.
