Please , having been trying for years to find the address for Alice Coutes, any suggestions
-
It's a bit small and goes out of focus if you try to enlarge it.
Can you scan it at a higher resolution,or tell us where it comes from please.
I have found it and saved it as a larger image.

Is that last word .....Dublin?
-
Possibly misheard or mistranscribed, but perhaps Colville Terrace, Dublin?

Thank you Carole,, No it is London could be Dalston area they lived in Whitechapel, Shoreditch, Bishopsgate, the Church is Christchurch Spittfields near Brick lane.
-
There was a Culverton Terrace in Hackney in the 1861 census. Numbers only went up to 27 though.
-
Was she born in 1862? Do you have the birth certificate?
-
One problem with a terrace is that sometimes its name appeared on the row of houses on a kind of plaque, but its full address included the name of the street it was on. The street will appear on a map, but any terraces on it may well not be named.
In this case, given that it's not in the parish where the child was baptised so might not be 100% accurate, I wonder if it's a mishearing of Colvestone and therefore connected with Colvestone Crescent, which runs off Ridley Road.

I was hoping to find them in 1881 as it's not too far from 1879,but couldn't see them anywhere.

As she was born in 1862 and not baptised till 1879,it is possible that she could have been out in Ireland.

This is the Charles Archer Coates, dairyman, who was at 135 Wentworth Street, Whitechapel in the 1860 directory?

Following up of ArthurK's post, there are a couple of newspaper mentions of Colvestone Terrace, Ridley Road.
-
I have researched the family for years, missing them in 1871 census , your all on the right track thanks, Colverstone looks good.
Charles was the same.
-
Sister Jessie was baptised in February of same year, the address was 46 Wells Road Hackney
-
Do you have a birth for Charles E?
I can’t find them in 1871 either :-\
-
He died before
-
He died before
I mean the one born abt 1866.
Perhaps registered with a different surname?
-
Waiting on a certificate, , looking at the family again after a long break, you find new records when you have a fresh look, thanks for all the help
-
Are you able to share the details of young Charles’ birth?
-
Have not been able to it, the surname has caused me problems over the years,
-
Joining in a little late here but I read the address as "Dalston" not Dublin, or do I need to get my eyes tested as I do need to go at some time.
