Looking to find how these two got from Ipswich England to Adelaide sa during the period 06/1915 and 12/1921
-
Are you aware that their mother Laura Moss re-married in 1917 to a Mr. R MacDonald?
It is possible they might have travelled to Australia under the surname MacDonald.
-
Thanks had a look at that but problem is they may have travelled with some one as they were both under the age of 16
-
well Dora Rose had a good life
I see Dora married Roland Argent 17th december 1921 - so I presume you are a direct descendant .
do you know a lady named Alison Heathorn ? she has this tree - maybe she has knowledge of when they arrived ?
I wonder why she moved from Mount Barker , South Australia to Tasmania where she died ??

MOSS, BEATRICE MAY NUNN
GRO Reference: 1908 S Quarter in IPSWICH Volume 04A Page 1063
There is a marriage for a Beatrice May Moss on 26 September 1936 at St Cuthberts Church Prospect, Adelaide to a John Albert Lush.
Beatrice's father is given as George Albert Moss.
Parents marriage with father's names the other way round:

Nunn Laura Maud Ipswich 4a 1865
I can't see any travel records for when the girls first left.

Looks like Beatrice died in 2001 in the Adelaide area.

Possibly travelled with parents, who were living in Prospect at the time of Beatrice’s marriage.

It seems that Joan is Joan Marjorie Macdonald born 3rd March 1920 in North Adelaide. Parents Roderick and Laura Maud nee Moss.
So one has to assume that Laura went to Australia between 1917 and 1920.
-
What was Rodericks occupation. Was the move to Australia because of that.
-
Thanks for info yes Laura Maud Nunn (Moss) re married in 1917, travelled with Joan in 1924, can’t find Roderick travelling from England from time they where married till when Laura and Joan travelled, found that Beatrice had a twin that died in sept 1909, also do know that Alison has a copy of my tree

If there's nothing else, mention a 26 year old Roderick McDonald, Engineer, arriving London on the Orontes, 6 June 1914. Port of embarkation Adelaide.
Country of last/intended future permanent residence, Australia/England.
