Hello,
George PICTON, the son of Edward PICTON and Elizabeth PICTON (nee SOWERBY) was born in Manchester in July/August 1839.
He was transported to WA aboard the Corona, arriving Fremantle 22/12/1866. He was awarded his Certificate of Freedom on 27/06/1870 and then migrated to South Australia a little while later.
Could someone help with details, if available, of George PICTON in South Australia please.
Thank you,
BAC3

Thank you for the details.
There appears to be every reason to accept that this may be the same person and I shall carry my research from this point on in the understanding he returned to WA.

Hello,
the Evening Journal (SA) 27 Feb 1883 reported in Shipping News that a passenger Mr George Picton had arrived into Port Adelaide onboard the 'Annie Taylor' from Esperance Bay.
Don't know if it is connected to your George, but thought I would add in to the mix.
Regards
Jen
