Title: Date please if possible my Mother Jane with Georgina
Post by: heymin on Saturday 19 June 21 15:06 BST (UK)
Hi, I have got access to this photograph from my late brother's collection but unfortunately no information along with it. I am hoping it is my mother Jane b2-1-1924 and her mother Georgina b8-7-1905. Any information would be welcome, thank you.

The stamp box has been dated 1913-1929 (Crown Studios). It could be early 1920s

Hi Eggy1948, thank you for another super job. I am hoping that this gorgeous couple are my mother and her mother by I suspect I'll never know for certain.

Brian - I know what you mean. I also have old photos where the family never wrote any info on the back of the photo.
Good luck with your searches.

Hi Brian

Have you got any other photos of your grandmother and/or mother as a child that might show likenesses.  If it is your mother, she look about 18 months to 2 years in the photo, so it would mean a photo taken 1925-6.

It would still be within the dates for the stamp box.

(nice restore, Eggy  :)  )

Hi Gadget, my brother grabbed all the family photos when my parents passed and unfortunately I have had limited access to them since he died too. I have one which I think is my mother quite young and another from 1941/42(age 17/18) so I'm not sure if they are much help. The following is a link to my grandmothers photo, again probably not a great deal of help. She died of cancer in 1942 aged 36.

Hi Brian

I've put the two photos  together for comparison. There are similarities between them. It would be interesting to see what others  think.

I think they are most likely to be the same person.

Hi, thank you all very much for your help. I am now more confident that we have the right people.  A familiar story, I guess, my daughters got me started in genealogy but late in life after the people I needed to question had gone. So many unanswered questions!
