Re visiting a sort of brick wall and thought someone make have some suggestions to give me some clarity.
Louisa Barker married Fred Findley in Sept 1898 in Bolton. Their marriage details in the parish records gives Louisa's father as William Barker deceased.
Fred Findley's family bible lists Louisa's Parents deaths as Mary Barker 17th oct 1897, age 49, so birth approx 1848. And William just as age 29 years. William may have been William Henry.
In the 1871 census the family are lodging with Samuel Hulme at Water st Little Bolton, both listed as 25 years old, William from Manchester, Mary from Bolton ( so born 1846)
I can find Mary and Louisa with her older siblings in the workhouse in Bolton at the 1881 census, Mary listed as Widow.
In the 1891 census I can find the 3 children (including Louisa) in Bolton with Henry Barker, widower.
But Mary is still alive and William (Henry) is dead?

I wonder if the enumerator has transcribed the census return in 1891 from the Barker family incorrectly. Mary could easily be misread as Henry, the occupation given is House Keeper and place of birth Bolton (not Manchester)

Hulme. 1871 census they were with Family, Mary was Mary Hulme,
I've been stuck in a loop, it was only yesterday evening that I found them on the 1871 census as on Ancestry barker is listed a Batker.
