Another set of eyes may help
Mary married Thomas Mctaggart in 1918 (aged 16 but 18 on certificate)
Not with husband in 1939 Greig Street. Had she left for the USA as some of her family ended up in Indianapolis
I think Thomas died after 1949
-
In 1940 she is at 3 Greig Street with Thomas McTaggart - electoral register
-
Thank you so a death after then.

Thomas McTaggart born 29th June 1882
There are 2 closed records in 1939 register one of which which could be her.
Also 2 daughters.
-
Daughter Sheila married somebody called Jennings and died in 1992
-

GRO has this death
Mary McTaggart
1957 aged 82
registered march quarter Liverpool North.
Added: not her, the marriage certificate gives age 18 therefore born about 1900
-
Was their son killed in 1942?
-
Yes
Was their son killed in 1942?
-
If the possible death of Thomas in sq 1950 Liverpool south is her husband, then could she have re-married very shortly afterwards to James Allen sq 1950 Liverpool south as Mary McTaggart.
Do you know a birth date for Mary?
John

Just looked at her birth registration it was registered first quarter of 1902 so she could have been born late 1901 which makes her younger at her marriage. So the birth date I have is probably wrong
-
Do you have her in 1911 with her family?
Her father was Thomas, what was her mother’s name?
-
Yes her mother was Mary Ann Berry late Foley formally Reid
They were living at 116 Wellington Road . That address comes into the reckoning an many occasions Greig Street to the rear

Mary does not appear in electoral registers with Thomas after 1939/40.
He is alone from 1945 onwards.
You mention family in Indianapolis. From a tree, is that Mary?
Daughter Mary McTaggart married George Ison.
There is a Mary L Ison in electoral registers in Copeland Street in 1945. Is that her?
At the same address is Stephen and Mary Leonard.
Stephen is alone in 1946. There may be no connection to the Leonards as they are in Copeland Street in 1940 and earlier.
-
Yes that will be Mary L b 1923. At one child born George and Mary L in Liverpool 1945. Then others end up being born I think in Kentucky
George died in Indiana

Mary Ison and child emigrate in 1946.
-
Thank you I am presume it that George was an American Serviceman
Mary Ison and child emigrate in 1946.
-
Yes he was.
I think the electoral registers information is valid after all.
There is a child born 1936 - Leonard with mmn Berry.
1939 register supports this and then the possible marriage in reply #9 mentioned already would fit.
-
Thanks again I hadn’t the Leonard should the birth year be 1932 or is there another in 1936

Did Thomas and Mary have a child as late as 1943 ?
-
Have you checked Free BMD?
I see two Leonard/Berry births in 1934 and 1936.
1939 register doesn’t make sense.
The 1943 birth is indexed under two surnames.
-
Can’t see the 1934/ 1936 ones at all
Will look at the 1943 one
Thanks for your input

I wasn’t going to mention first names as the people may still be living.

Surname - Leonard
Mother’s surname - Berry
Easy to find

I can now see where you are coming from. I see that there is in 1934 a female with the surname Leonard and Mctaggart (like the 1943 entry) something is going on.

There was another Stephen in Copeland Street so I was confused. I thought he had moved home.
However I see the burial now. It doesn’t look to be a War Grave though.I was looking at a different record. You’re right. :)
-
Yes there is the burial register and the WG notice. Don’t think he married Mary just had the children
