Title: Huyton with roby orphange 1930’s
Post by: cornish milly on Thursday 29 July 21 20:26 BST (UK)
I have just found my Uncle in the 1939 census in this orphanage.  I have been lucky enough to find someone who knew of my family and said that they thought all the family were in this orphanage.  Does anybody know if there are any record’s available?  It has come as a bit of a shock!

It might be worth emailing Lancashire Archives to ask if they hold any records.

Many thanks, will do.  Just occurred to me if they will have the 100 year closure of records.

This page looks to have wrong information initially about Knowsley, placing it in the Midlands.
http://www.childrenshomes.org.uk/KnowsleyBC/

However, if you scroll down it does relate to the right area.

The section on Records is useful.

“Older material relating to Knowsley Council homes may exist at:

The ARK (Archives Resource for Knowsley), The Kirkby Centre, Norwich Way, Kirkby L32 8RR.”
