Hello
I am searching for descendants and information for James Thomson MacMillan who was the son of Ebenezer MacMillan and Helen Thomson. He was born in Glasgow Scotland on January 1st 1859 and died in London in 1927. He was an Actor and married Catherine Jane Baker in 1885 in Manchester.

In 1901 James and Catherine, with son, Douglas, age 1, born Scotland, were living as visitors in John Street, Hanley, Staffordshire. Ref . Sched 123.piece/ folio 68, page 29. ( Family Search).
I note that Catherine was born in Bristol. GRO Index has the following birth. Ellen MacMillan. Jun Q 1888. Bristol. Mmn Baker. The death of an Ellen MacMillan, age 6, was registered in Stoke Trent, Staffs in Mar Q 1895. Might this be another of their children?
The death of a Catherine J MacMillan, age 81, was recorded in Cardiff in Sept Q 1944.

Described as visitors so perhaps their main home in Scotland?

There is a WW1 record for Douglas.
Birth 1st May 1899
Enlisted 1917 - he is a clerk
Parents named and address 65 Dumbarton Road Brixton Hill
Sadly, there is a page dated 1920 referring to him as deceased
Here is the information re his death

I think Alexander must have died before 1911, so there would be no further descendants of James and Catherine.

From the column heading "Birthplace" - Note: in the case of persons born elsewhere than England or Wales state whether "Resident" or "Visitor" in this country.
In this family it applies only to head and son, both born in Glasgow, wife born in Bristol.
Confusing :-\

I thought it would be resident but maybe a misunderstanding.

Sorry, duplication.
