Hi,
I'm in agreement with you to a certain stage here wivenhoe. ;D
I would say the NOON birth for Henry John to Louisa looks very good.
But I deviate to a different track after that.
It looks as if Louisa was first with Mr McGREGOR and the union produced the correct John Henry.
In 1883 she married Jesse BAKER and they had a daughter , Mabel Grace BAKER in 1884. And possibly another.
EDIT to add-
Jess BAKER
Louise Janet McGREGOR
Date18 Sep 1883
At Queensland
Year 1883
Reg 000007
Jesse BAKER died in 1885 in a sawmill accident.
Louisa did not remarry and died in 1927
Louisa Jeanette BAKER
Death Date-14 May 1927
At Queensland
Father- John Noon
Mother- Elizabeth Facet
Year-1927
Registration 001413

carolaj,
I don't know how interested you are in knowing more about Louisa, but for your interest she was born in Warwickshire, England.
Births Jun 1856
NOON Louisa
Rugby
6d/ 418
Her parents married in Dec. quarter of 1845
FACER Elizabeth
NOON John
Rugby
16/691
She is on 1861 census with parents and some siblings and the details would be available if required.
I have not seen her immigration to Qld.

Hi
Well I think this is the immigrant arrival for Louisa
MOON (sic) Louisa
Aged 20
Date 2/6/1877 EDIT
Ship Indus
to Rockhampton.
Interestingly, or maybe purely co-incidentally, there was on the same voyage
McGREGOR, John
Aged 15 ::)
There is evidence, if it is of interes,t that Henry John McGREGOR was close to his mother and family.
Advise if it is relevant to your inquiry and I will type it up.

The Qld electoral roll shows in 1905 Louisa BAKER lived at Goodwin Street Bundaberg. Street numbers are not given, but also at Goodwin Street Bundaberg in 1903 and 1905, Henry John McGREGOR, a carter.
After his marriage in 1906, the 1908 roll shows him at Park Street Bundaberg as a carter, but perhaps his wife has not enrolled so does not show.
John Henry’s half- sister, the daughter of Jesse BAKER was registered as Mabel Grace BAKER but is sometimes seen as Mary and sometimes as May.
She married in 1901 (reg 000121) Mabel Grace BAKER to Jens Peter NELSEN in QLD.
The surname was actually NIELSEN.
Jens applied successfully for naturalization in 1905 as a native of Denmark and the documents show he arrived here in 1897, and is now married with one child. He also is a carter and lives at Goodwin Street Bundaberg.
https://www.naa.gov.au/explore-collection/immigration-and-citizenship/citizenship-records
The son, George Henry NIELSEN was born 1902 in Qld (ref 000496)
I am not sure that this marriage was successful and I have not located the couple sharing an address. At some point Mabel Grace became Mrs Fraser.
All this is not enough to be positive, but to me it indicates that Louisa BAKER was close to her son Henry, and after her marriage to Jesse BAKER and his death, the boy remained with her in the same street (possibly the same house) in Bundaberg until he married Harriett Matilda.

This is very likely the right birth. Fannie is likely a mis-transcribing of Jannie, Jannet etc.
Please note the father's name is not listed and the surname is NOON-- The child was illegitimate.
Possibly your Henry John McGREGOR?
QLD BDM birth
NOON Henry John born 30/12/1881
parents Louisa Fanny NOON
1881/C/3809
Today you have a father’s name which you have not mentioned before. ;D
What is the source of this information please.
Do you have a birth or death certificate for Henry John?
THANKS< Its certainly him with his mother but i wonder what happen to his father , that whats i was having trouble with in the first place, i have his father as john malcolm mcgregor, there is plenty of john mcgregors. will keep looking once again thank you for your help carolaj

Hi sparrett,
in the record qlds records the death of henry john 1/2/1917 its name his parents as louisa noon and john henry mcgregor. there is so many john mcgregor's it is hard to sort out, louisa goes by mcgregor when she marries jess baker, but i can find a death for john henry mcgregor before 1883 when she remarry's so she might have been maried to mcgregor but just took his name carolaj

You have stated here John Malcolm McGregor
Where did you get that from?
It is not what is seen elsewhere ???
She was not married to McGREGOR. The child Henry was illegitimate.
She called herself McGREGOR to "save face"
See my previous post
