Hi
James married Sally Cuttle of Kirkburton in Holmfirth in1825. He died in 1849 at the age of 61 and according to the 1841 Census he was living in Yorkshire, but born out of County.
There is a James Fearns bon in Scotland in 1788, but I am hoping that somrone might be able find him in the Amy Records.
Many Thanks
Davidt

There is a James Fearns joining the 4/1st Foot on 26-1-1807 and also a James Fearns in the 23rd Foot who is in the Peninsular War medal roll. There may be others.
In the 1841 census, if he had been born in Scotland, the "whether or not born in the county" column would be blank and the next column would have an S.

Link to other thread posted to avoid possible duplication of efforts. You didn't mention his occupation on the 1841 to explain the reason for the Army records search
