Title: The Newlyn fishermen that donated wages to the Church
Post by: tornado on Wednesday 13 October 21 18:34 BST (UK)
"Has anyone heard of the tale that Newlyn fishermen donated part of there wages to the Church in the 1900s , or is it just heresay?". I know the Church was a stronghold of the Community in fishing ports and faith was important to these workers. I appreciate any responses here and thank you .

Where did you hear/read of this?  What has made you think it happened?

I was watching a Television show about Cornwall and a lady with fishermen ancestors said she had heard about this whilst growing up . I also have Cornish fishermen ancestors and i wanted to confirm the story and add it to my Family history notes.
