Trying to trace a possible female relative born in Almelo, Holland during the WW2 likely between 1942 and 1943. Anyone any idea where I should start looking? I have a working knowledge of the language so should be able to cope.

Hi,
Try www.startpagina.nl It has lots of general links to various sites in The Netherlands (though I haven't looked for any family history sites). This site is VAST!! You might also have to trawl through the "daughter" pages as well.
Below are a couple more:
www.google.nl
www.familysearch.org (the IGI also covers The Netherlands)
If you need to send an email to a Dutch site don't be afraid to write it in English. I speak Dutch but as soon as they hear my English accent the majority of people always answer in English. It has become very fashionable in Holland to speak English.
