I am struggling to find the death of my relative Edith Annie Todd who was born 16/10/1877 in Stourport, England. She was a spinster and spent most of her life working as a nurse in the Whitby, Northumberland area. I have got a death certificate for an Edith Anne Todd who died in Essex but that`s definitely not her.
There is another possibility for a death in 1939 - the name is right but the age isn`t quite. The address on the Probate record is The Bungalow, Mountain Lane Penmaenmawr.
Probate was to Kate Elizabeth Chase, widow. After doing a bit more hunting I found a probate record for Mrs Chase in 1957 - the same address. This time probate is to Ellen Elizabeth Todd, Spinster. My gut feeling is that there were originally 3 ladies living at this address and that Ellen Elizabeth was the sister of this Edith Annie - but I know that my Edith Annie had not sisters or other family with the surname Todd
Could anyone fill this story out for me? I don`t really want to pay out for another death certificate unless I am pretty sure she is my Edith Annie.

Thanks everyone. Yes you have identified my Edith Annie, and Kay99`s info does confirm my suspician that this isn`t her in Wales.
I`ll have to continue my search elsewhere
One of her niece`s took part in the Mass Observation project and mentions visiting "a fat aunt in Whitley Bay" in 1948 but so far that hasn`t helped me!

How sure are you that she was a spinster, she may have married in later life?
Have you found Edith on the 1939 Register?

I can`t find her in 1939. I will check out the marriages next. The last evidence I have for her being unmarried is in April 30th 1920 when she left a nursing post
