I am trying to research someone born 1939 Dublin, .
. She became a nun (don't know when) , I wonder if anyone can point me in the direction to find out what happened to her. Thanks in advance. I believe she has died.

Rootschat has a strict no living persons policy & somebody born in 1939 could still be alive.
You need to remove her name from your post

sorry, old age is creeping on. this was a senior moment on my part.

Hi
You need to remove her name from your Subject header as well. I have deleted it on my reply
Your amendment now says you believe she has died. Is there any confirmation for that as you say you don't know what happened to her

her twin sister died in 2015 and it is believed that she has also died, but we don't know what name she took when she took the veil. would there be any records of this event?

Nuns nowadays often use their birth name.
If you have her sister’s death, was there an obituary or an announcement where the family might be mentioned?

Difficult one. Would a nun be buried under both her birth name & her religious name?
Without knowing which order she joined is a possible problem. Do you know if she remained in Ireland?
Did her sister marry & have any children as they may be able to give you more info.
Would your local Diocese be able to help?

My suggestion also, or obituaries of parents or other siblings. In the US they would usually say the nun's name and at least "of Washington, DC" for example. And they might include the letters identifying the order, etc.
And newspapers, in case she became a school principal, etc., and did something to get into the papers.

Yes, good ideas :)

My mother had a friend who was a Nun, when she died her death was registered under her birth name.

Women very often joined the order that educated them.
