Title: National Archives Dublin Look up Request
Post by: nigelspicer on Thursday 09 December 21 11:15 GMT (UK)
I'm trying to establish if a burial record for a James McCullo(ch) (ugh) (ck) exist in the Parish Registers of St. Nicholas in Cork (CofI, now sold off). He was born in Strabane in abt 1759 but later settled in Cork. He was a customs officer/surveyor of revenue. Through Pigot's 1924 Directory I've tracked him to living near to St. Nicholas at this time. His daughter was married in this church in 1818. So at age 66 there is a reasonable chance that he was buried here between 1824 and say 1838.
I've established that the NA's in Dublin have copies of the relevent PR's. They can be viewed on microfilm in the Reading Room (reference is MFCI 23, 24, 25), and there is a document (reference M 6047) that contains pages from registers missed in filming that can also be viewed in the Reading Room.
Would some kind person be able to have a look for me?
Thank you!
