Title: Mourning brooch
Post by: Braban on Sunday 26 December 21 14:46 GMT (UK)
This is a photo of a mourning brooch, it contains a loch of hair. It is small, only 2cm x1cm

On the reverse are initials which I can’t work out. I am hoping that someone will be able to decipher them.Thank you!

Yes , most likely JT.  or IT.
No cross bar for F .

I agree with the above, though I suggest an “I” rather than “J” due to the lack of a tail, however a tail could have been omitted to make the letters fit more neatly on the brooch. (hedging my bets here)  :)

There are probably more names which begin with a J rather than an I, so may be more likely to be a J (more hedging)  :)

Looks like IT for me
If a tail on the first letter went below the line, then JT
