.............................................
Marriage: 28 Sep 1729 St Luke, Torver, Lancashire, England
Richard Lowther - Broughton
Elizabeth Fleming - Sauterstead
    Register: Marriages 1692 - 1821

says Elizabeth was from Sauterstead ....you say born 19th Jan 1715 in Torver
- this would mean Richard was 29 and Elizabeth 14 ???   when they married - IT IS POSSIBLE - but I would have thought unlikely...maybe a bit more research is required

I have posted the 1699 marriage in Broughton - IN CASE they are Richards parents ??  they look more likely to me

Thanks for that Garstonite

Elizabeth Lowther died at Gressingham 9th January 1809 aged it was said 94 so that must have been  the 1729 wedding. I can't find Richards burial  at Gressingham on Lancs OPC . If its correct she must have been a child bride.
Souterstead is the name of a farm at Torver

Hi ALL

Its getting rather complicated  Richard and Elizabeth Lowther married 1729 of Souterstead Elizabeth wife of Richard was recorded as being buried in jan 1741 at Torver. Richard remarried on 12 apr 1747 to a Sarah Park of Monk Coniston in Hawkshead parish at Torver 12 apr 1747.

I've also found a record for a Thomas Lowther being christened at Torver 22nd feb 1682 .son of Richard .

I think a lot of further research is required into the accuracy of the earlier records of this tree.

Hi All

I,ve now  found a christening for a Elizabeth Fleming at Torver chr 13 july 1708 who later married  Richard Lowther in 1729 which means she would have been about 21 at the time of marriage her parents were Robt and Elizabeth Fleming .
