The subject, whose Usual Residence was at 30 Bridge St, Inverness, on the 7th of September 1880 in St Andrews Cathedral, Inverness, Scotland, married John Collow Kerr whose usual residence was at 68 Caledonian Road, Leeds, England.
Mary's father was said to be John Tulloch, Quartermaster Sergeant in the 78th Highlanders Regiment. I believe that he married Margaret Brown in Bombay, India, about 1850-60. His surname MAY have also appeared as TULLOH!
Margaret Brown married twice - to Sergeant-Major John Pocock of the 78th Highlanders Regiment. in Bombay on the 19th of April 1859, about whom I have quite a lot of information. He died in Inverness on the 12th of November 1905.
What ever happened to Mary Alexia? Did she die early, or marry, and have children?
I will be most happy and appreciative of any help.
Please everybody - stay safe.

GRO Index
Evelyn Robert Collow Kerr 1881 mmn Tullock
Margaret Mary Collow Kerr 1882 mmn Tullock
Janet Alexa Collow Kerr 1884 mmn Tulloch
Constance Catherine Collow Kerr 1886 mmn Fulloch (s/b Tulloch)
The census gives John P C Kerr age 3 but I've not found his birth registration, if he and Constance are twins it seems only one registration was forwarded.
You can ask the Leeds registration office more local to find out if his was accidentally omitted when forwarding to London.

Is it possible to find out an more about Mary A. Kerr 25 b Bombay, East Indies ?
-
By 1911 John Collor Kerr is a Bank Manager in Halifax living with his daughters but not his wife although he is still listed as married :-\
In 1901 I think Mary is listed as M A K born 1856 India - a certified patient in a house in York licensed for the keeping of lunatics
Kay
Added - she is still there in 1911
-
So WAS she a lunatic ? Where/when did she die ?
-
It looks as though she was in a small private asylum for women of private means called the Pleasnance and run by a Dr Swanson. She may have had issues that would have been treatable in modern times

Well I have to note that no way was she born in 1866 - that would mean that she was only 18 years old when she married John Collow Kerr ! But her age in her marriage certificate says she was then 24 years old !
