Can anyone help me to find the parents and siblings of John Golightly born 1810. His father may have been called David. John married Frances Hutchinson in 1846. I think that Frances and John had 6 children, the first 2 in Wycliffe with Thorpe, Teesdale, North Yorks and the rest at Forcett.

Have you not bought the 1846 M/C to confirm his Fathers name and Occp?

That is the (edit ADDED) image of the marriage from the parish register on Family Search (you need to be signed in to view it but an account is free)
It definitely says his Dad is David.
NB John was recorded as a widower on this marriage

John Golightly, born 1810, may have had a brother called Robert. Father's name is David. Thank you for you valued input.

May also be found as Lightly. Here is the BT of the baptism of John Lightly son of David, native of Escombe, and Jane nee Crustier, at Auckland st Andrew 1805

This may be an earlier marriage for John, to Elizabeth, at Stanwick st John, which is not too far from Forcett, where the OP said the family lived later.

On the vision of Britain link , it states Etherley is now part of Teesdale, which is incorrect. It's in the Wear valley . The river is less than a mile away. The river Tees and its upper dale is probably 10 miles away.
