Title: Meaning of Enquiry
Post by: Foehn on Friday 13 May 22 11:54 BST (UK)
I have been trying to find the possible source of "Enquiry" I extracted this list from Brits in South America, and I understand what the 1833 reference was to Anna Maria Sampson in Gentleman's Magazine This was a reference to her marriage to John Scott although I have not copied his  entry here. They were both in Rio de Janeiro that year. The two other bold statements are what I need to understand and locate. In particular the enquiry re John and Anna Maria for 1840 as I want to confirm this was to do with their father's death in September of 1839 So where is "Enquiry" published?
Subsequent to this, they were further mentioned, John Sampson, her brother in Chile in 1846

Hello,

http://sabrits.co.uk/S.html
ENQUIRY is the data source - so I would suggest that perhaps the owner of the website as collated various genealogical or "personals" enquiries and entered the details of the persons being "looked for" or "looked into" into the Database. Have you tried to contact the SatBrits webmaster?

"On request, I can usually provide the original E-mail which initiated the data entry. "

Not sure when the website last updated etc ( it says 2020 on one page) but worth a try.

Cheers
