The museum I volunteer at has been given a driving licence for this lady and I wondered if anyone has any information on her?
The licence was issued by Buckingham County Council on 4.8.1927 for one year. Her address is given as White Hart Hotel, Buckingham.
How did it end up in Cambridgshire?

Are you sure that the surname is Asbec and not Asbee. There is a birth reg dec qtr 1891 Newmarket reg district for a Dorothy Mary Asbee
-
looking closely it may well be ASBEE, so the Newmarket registration is possible, many thanks.
That would make her about 36 at time of issue. now to see if I can find anything else about her or a photo.

thanks for your help, I wonder if Dorothy was a nurse? from the newspaper article. Northampton Mercury 21 January 1916.
I now have her will, leaving things to Emily Asbee, presumable the aunt.

There was an Emily ASHBEE in Swaffham on 1939 Register. An Ellen E.L. ASHBEE in Cambridge. (Perhaps the Ellen on 1911 census? ) Can't see Dorothy in Cambridgeshire on 1939 Register.

Ellen's age on census would make her a bit young to have been Dorothy's mother.
-
In the 1881 Census Emily is daughter to George and Mary Asbee. By 1901, Dorothy M is recorded as granddaughter to George and Mary.
Her birth record shows her mother's maiden name is Tottman, but I haven't found a marriage between Asbee and Tottman, so no idea of Dorothy's parents yet.
ongoing project

in 1991 census, Dorothy is shown as daughter of George Edward b1864 (son of George E and Mary Asbee in the 1901 census. His wife is shown as having no children and married for 3 years, so it looks like Dorothy is daughter of George and a previous wife/girlfriend.
I now have a story to display with the driving licence, thanks for your help
