Title: help ... lost my great granfather - James Allchorne
Post by: Teresa Palmer on Wednesday 22 June 22 21:12 BST (UK)
Can anyone please help me?  ???
My great grandfather James Edgar Allchorne was born in 1890 in London, He married Florence Mead in Nottingham in 1920. however, after their 1st son, Edgar Leonard Mead Allchorne was born SEP 1921 in Croydon, Greater London. Florence seems to reappear in Nottingham giving birth to 2nd son Cecil allchorne 5 SEP 1925  ( my grandfather) on her own the father was not named on Cecil's BC, (I know he was James's son as some of my DNA matches are from this branch. ) however I can not seem to find what happened to my Great grandfather James. when did he die? did they divorce? did he remarry?
Florence went on to remarry here in Nottingham 1938.
Thank you for your help in advance

A divorce seems likely.
In 1939 register, he is recorded as single.

There is a Wikitree that has this as his death: James was born in 1890. He passed away in 1959.

Other ‘tree’ sites have the same.
